2wd or 4wd shouldn't matter.  isn't the one on the left an R151F bellhousing and the one on the right a G/W series?

I don't think that 2wd bell houseing are detachable, I do know that the one on the left is off a 4wd 4 cylinder.

Both of my 2wd bellhousings are detachable, and niether of them looked like the one on the right.  Mine were 83 and 89 celica and truck trans.

ahh, that could be it.  L43s had a cast iron case and a removable aluminum bellhousing.  never took mine off though.

G, W, R and L trannies were all used in 2wd trucks as well.  most just had higher gearsets and a different tailshaft/housing.  as far as bolting up behind a 22R, they're all the same 2wd or 4wd.

Yup, right is definately a W or G series, and, I'm not 100% sure, but if it's a Toy belhousing, then it'll be a 4 speed L43.

Both of these 2WD bells will fit 4WD transmissions. However, I would not advise using them, because they are both light, thin cast versions that were not designed for the added weight of the t/case.

Left side, 9 bolt small pattern;
  81-88 G40 4 speed
  84-95 W45, 46 4 speed

  81-95 G52, 53, 54, 57, 58,  5 speed
  84-95 W52, 52, 55, 56 5 speed

Right side, 7 bolt dual pattern
  69-80 L40, 42, 43 4 speed

  71-84 W40, 42 4 speed
  71-85 W50, 52 5 speed

I knew at least one was from a 2WD. I was deciding wether to keep or trash (recycle).
