It all depends what your needs are, DD? Trail Rig? Both?
What types of terrain do you generally run?

It seems if you are considering a BFG A/T vs a Bogger...then you need to re-evaluate your options..and determine what you NEED.
I would also put the Interco Trxus M/T on the list (cheaper than a BFG MT).

BD Not everyone wants to run the exact same tire as everyone else.  Hell Ill run a tire that doesnt perform as well as everyone else just so Im not just liike them.  Mtr's are worse then bfg's these days and Ill never own either set just to avoid the cookie cutter effect. 


My vote goes for the sx.  They are a decent tire on the road, well bot really they will track a bit but nothing bad.  I feel that the offroad performance they offer far outweighs the street manners that they have.  I wouldnt get the 36 either.  Id step up to the 38x12.5 its an actualy 36" tall tire and its a bit narrower so it has better manners on the street.

Size from 34-36, 6 tires cause 1 spare is not enough in the forrest. I've gone through 3 spares in one run before. I'm at least carrying 2 spares.

I'd rather not either but financially, I really dont have a choice.  I drive more on road then off road unfortunately, and I have to have tires that preform well, or at least decent in both.  I have MTRs and have been happy with the preformance but I wanna try something else, and the MTs are cheaper as well  The reason I posted up those two tires is because that is what I had folded up in my pocket.

If it's a daily I vote BFG MT's I decided to go that way when I heard how bad the swampers wear out ion the street.
If it's a trail only rig go with a swamper they rule offroad..
I may get another set of tires for tail use only so I think I will likely run 36's or 38's for the trail and 35's for the street and light trail use.
I may pickup a set of worn 38.5x14.50 SX swampers and regroove them with a hot knife for trail runs.

Swampers wear badly when they are neglected.  If you watch the pressure and rotate them with ever oil change they will last a long time.  I put over 30k on a set of 38x12.5's and they still had at least 40% tread.

I think it would be between the regular bias TSL or the SX.
Boggers are cool and they work great but you need alot of HP so they work well in mud pits with a high HP combo. Also boggers tend to slide on side hils because of the lugs if they were grooved with a hot knife then they generally don't slide.
I got a friend who runs them on his jeep but he has a stroker motor he is pushing about 280 HP with 4.56's and beadlocked 33x12.50 boggers. They work awesome I have yet to see him get stuck where other guys including me get stuck he powers right out of the swamps.

Damn, if your driving habits get you through spares like that I would be looking at boggers or SX's with a tough sidewall construction.

Yea, they do side slide, that's how I got stuck in this pit, I was trying to ride the side and slid sideways into it. You can see the slide mark in the mud on the right. I'm deffinetly cutting my next pair, if I get them.

When you are driving in rough forrest there is a lot of fallen trees to get over with a lot of branches broken off of them, and they love to just stab through your tires. The biggest one I had stab through a bogger was around 1" thick. It stabbed through in the center of the tire where there is no tread to protect it.

I would go with the TSL SX if i were you. Those are awsome tires. Right now i have 1 brand new as my spare. But i run 36" Iroks and if you havent already i would check out iroks. They do cost a little more because they are a fairly new tire.

from your list i say the tsls but MTR's kick ass and they are probley worth a little extra scratch!

Try to find a Discount Tire (www.discounttire.com ??) for great prices, they are the best in my area.  I know the BFG AT are much more expensive that the BFG MT at the local Sears as well.

Don't get the BFG AT tires if you are mostly a trail ride.

I have BFG MT tires and they are great, but a buddy of mine punctured several side walls on his and has had better luck with the MTRs.

If you don't do much street driving then the Swamper Bogger has to be the #1, I didn't put in a vote yet because I am still considering bias vs. radial & they seem a bit narrow at 10.50.
