Hey,,my buddy has a 77 hilux 4x conversion..It has what looks to be a 2wd 5sp bolted up to a 21ru with what looks to be a married dana 300..Any ideas on how this could  be and what kind or trans or adapter was used?I will get a pic when he gets the trans out..Anyone? :dunno:

ive seen about 12 of the early mini truck 4x4 swaps in my area if memory serves me they were either a dealer install or from jc whitney?? :dunno: most of them have been jeep part conversions 30 front axle 300 case.  
all but 3 of them are datsuns of toys the others are luvs
mostly prefabbed bracketry not the usual homegrown
methods.  hope this helps  what about the pics??
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??
