I haven't found a need for anything bigger than 33 inch tires, I hardly ever have clearance problems.  Last time in Moab we did Pritchett Canyon (went around the Rock Pile) and had no problems.  I know better than to go into places like the Proving Ground and Upper Heldorado.

I wouldn't recommend going to Moab during the EJF, go the week before and just stay for a day during the weekend to see the trucks.  It gets way too crowded and way more expensive.  Also avoid the half marathon for similar reasons. :twocents:

I don't have a lot of other good Moab pictures, video was used more on other trips, but is there anything of particular interest?

more...(I must admit that I didn't get out of the tub that year, but I did last year.  It helped a lot to actually see another truck drive out, I missed the line the first time, I think a full locker in the front would have made the difference, or a 2nd case.

1.5 inch blocks are now installed.  I like the new ride height, I plan to test it out offroad in the near future.  I was trying to keep everything clean until I got everything installed.

Compare these pictures with the original rear lift springs and then without the blocks for reference.

BD, what about the 1.5" blocks?  I know that this would level out my rig (blocks) but I have been told to not use blocks on your rig when lifting/leveling.
What do you think?  How is your rig "crawling" with your blocks installed?

I have not done much wheeling since the block install, but axle wrap on the street is less now than it was with the 4.5 inch superlift rear springs they replaced.  The wheeling that I have done they seem fine.  Having said that, I would have preferred for my springs to be tall enough without the blocks, but matching existing springs with custom is difficult.  You won't find me advertising that blocks are the way to go, but I don't think that short blocks are the end of the world.  You will notice that my superlift springs replaced a Pro Comp lift with 3" blocks, I wanted to get rid of the blocks.

I've got an 85' xtra cab with 63" Chevy springs with 3" lift blocks that just crawled all over Mab (pritchett canyon, Moab rim, fins and things and hells revenge) and didn't have any axle wrap, i thinks its all about finesse. Like the instructions say  on the dual transfer kit, you bought it to go slow, so go slow!! It was actually  cool to see a group of jeeps wheelin with a 4 runner until the jeep spotter egged on the runner to try a near vertical line in 3rd gear, that was it, no more toyota, grenaded his ring and pinion. Saturday morning, no more wheelin for the whole weekend and he actually spent $ for chromo axles.your on the right track dude, keeps your toy from looking like a crash up derby or just empty every pocket crawler.

BlackDiamond ... nice looking rig!  Very practical, still streetable, you can get in and out of it easily enough ...NICE!!!! :beerchug:

How did you like Funny Rocks?  I have been there once and want to go back this next year, Moon Rocks was cool too. 8)

For the record, almost a year ago I ran a 5" block under the rear of my Blazer for almost 3yrs  :o ... people thought I was CRAZY  and maybe I was but I wheeled the snot out of it, putting it in every angle and nook and cranny I could find axle wrap was not too bad, but yes it had a little... NEVER...NEVER having one problem.  Now, with 63" Chevy springs I have a 2" block for leveling purposes.  Personally. I would not be afraid of it.

The last time I went to Moab I rolling into SLC at 80+ mph, I suspect adding a locker to the front will make winter driving more exciting.

I always end up at Funny Rocks with groups that can only watch the fun.  In my opinion, they are a long drive for such a small play area, but it doesm make a great weekend destination.  The rocks remind me of Moab, but way less traction.  I am a bit of a Moab "snob" since I have been there several times.  Growing up in Colorado causes me to get tired of driving between trees in the mud, I much prefer the high rocky trails I grew up on.

I have never been to Moab :shakehead:  ... YET!  It is on the radar screen though, just not sure when.  I grew up in what we called "redneck wheeling" which was pretty much nasty clay and mud, deep ruts and serious hill climbs in tight spots between over grown trees.  The tree huggers do a good job protecting the forest here so any "good" spots are mostly closed, especially in the last 5-6 yrs. :hammer:

Your are fortunante to know only the rocks as your play ground.  How cool is that.  :beerchug:  Some friends and myself are wanting to plan a trip to Funny Rocks and some of those trails near the Naches river this coming late spring.  Have you been on any of the other trails in that area?  There is a TON of them!
