:help: How bad is it to run different size tires? I have 4 33" tires but fronts are different than the rears fronts are 31 1/2" and the rears are 33" even. I have 4:10 gears in both diffs how bad is it to run them?

if the tires are all the same then all that is going on is the added weight of the drivetrain is loading it down no biggy offroad shouldnt affect anything at all other than that what airpressure are you runnin
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

No I meant that the tires are DIFFERENT front and rear......X-terrains on the front and Swamper SSR's on the rear. Those are the sizes at street pressure. I have to get one more x-terrain so I can mount all four of them, I bought some used ones and one had a sidewall slash so I have to get one more but don't have the money for it yet.  So the swampers are on there now. I would have gone with new front swampers but all four x-terrains were cheaper than the two new swampers.

offroad i wouldnt be too worried
i ran 3.73s front and 410 rear with 39.5 swampers with no prob. (course that was in the mud)

On the steet or high traction surfaces keep it out of four wheel drive and keep the hubs unlocked and you will be fine.  On dirt, mud, sand or snow, where the tires can slip to dissipate the bind created by the different sizes you can go ahead and lock in.  Just dont mix and match on the same axle and you will be fine.

Only use it when needed and to get out of a bind and don't get use to using like that..Kepp in mind to chage those gears..

Yeah, you should be ok: 2 whell drive doesn't matter as long as hubs aren't locked, but 4 wheel drive should be ok.  You have something like a 10 percent difference leeway (thats what i was told by someone at marlin's shop) when you run different gearsin the front and back, so running tires a little different, and the same gears should be no problem, as long as you don't run like 32's and 35's . ;)

Quote2 whell drive doesn't matter as long as hubs aren't locked

Even if the hubs were locked, as long as the t/case is in 2WD, different driveline speeds will not hurt anything.

#1. Dont do it (in 4WD) because its hell on your driveline.

#2. See #1.
