I need a new rear suspension on my dailly driver/rock crawler. It is an 85 extra-cab with Alcan 5.5's in front and POS springs that dont flex in the rear. I need something that will handle well on the road but also flex like a mutha mutha on the trail. I run 35" BFG muds so you know about how much lift i need...Any suggestions on what i should buy/make for the rear?

i would suggest the 63" chebby route.

seems to be in the middle of road handling and trail flex.

just my 0.02

Chevy springs work well for daily driver. I second that.

If you go buggy springs, then you'll need alot of dampening for the highway. Some type of shock-dissconnect should do.

If you do shackle work like buggy leafs or double shackles (revolver) then expect the truck to become squirrelly under high speed braking.

What's your price range/preference?  If you're looking for something to buy, I'm pretty stoked on my orbit eyes (more testing needed though!) but they seem to do well with whatever I throw at em.  Mazda springs used to be popular too, in fact I'd be curious to find out if anyone still uses them...anyone?
