A buddy of mine just had his 84 Toyota poop out on him.  The temp gage was faulty so he didn't realize that it was running hot.  The lower radiator hose was leaking and drained the radiator while driving on the highway.  He fixed the hose and filled the radiator and a little farther down the road the cap and top of radiator blew off.  He said that he was losing power prior to the catastophic end.  He is guessing that he blew the head gasket, any other ideas?

He purchased the truck a couple of months ago on Ebay and has already had a $1000 worth of work done on the motor.  Buyers beware!
