V6
So, the 22R is a good engine, but what about the V6? :dunno: Is it well suited for rock crawling? im thinking about it because my friend has a 2nd gen. 4Runner with a bad automatic tranny in it that i could get for cheep :heyhey: but it has a V6 in it. any information on the subject of the Toyota V6 or the automatic transmission in it would be appreciated. (p.s. did the auto. 4Runners come with lower r&p gears?)
What do you mean you dont know?

personally id stick with a 2.4l engine.  They are easier to work with and a lot more reliable then the 3.0l.  I have owned a 1990 4runner with the 3.0l and a 1991 toyota pickup with a 2.4l.  The 3.0l had the most problem and triying to do any work on it on your own was a real pain in the ass.   Also upgrades for the 3.0l is very expensive and you can get a 2.4l and add power mods to it and exceed the power to Cubic inch ratio cheaper then what you could with a 3.0l.  If your going to do a swap and stick with toyota engines i'd go with either the 3.4l or a supra engine.   Personaly id go with a chevy motor.

Hey if you can get it cheap why not..The toy auto and the 3.0 are othing to write home about. The 3.0 biggest problem i think was head gasgets..There is a recall for them though..They are kind of shitty to work on as well. But heck if you get it cheap who gives a rats :moon:
Forgiveness is between them and god..
Its my job to arrange the meeting!
