20r power sterring

ok iv got a 79 20r thaty never had powersterring and my truck has i have been driving it this way for 6 months no time to fix it now i got time aney one had this problem with a good fix short of a new head that has the castings for the bolts

Look at old Celicas. I think mine had PS.

thanks  i have trid this but from what i found out today in 1979 and pryor toyota never had p/s so the heads wernt cast with the bolts holes to mount it now my info my be wrong but that is what all the wrecking yard are telling me thay all say i need a 300 head i can get a whol motor for that

why not fab your own bracket? it isnt that hard to do.  I do stuff like that for my friends all the time heck for the money that they want for the head you could have a shop build a bracket and have it chromed!!!

i guss i am gonna half to drag out the welder and get to wrok just want some ideas befor i started i dident think i had such a wierd problem

my celica was an 80 with a 20R. I think it's still siting in the junkyard.

right an 80 has the bolr holes in the head to have p/s and 79 dident i can swap the head and get 3 outa 4 holes but i like my head so ill fab a braket

In my experience, its easiest to make a plate that bolts up to your engine and then adapts to the bolt pattern of the pump's original bracket.

well i have power sterring almost now i need to paint the bracket so it dosent rust and ill be in busness i did build a bracket to bolt to the motor and then hooked the pump to  it so much faster with a plasma cutter so ill have thiss all compleet tomarrow i can post pics if aney one wants i also have the mesure ments
