I agree that thornturds SUCK :yesnod:
I bought a set of 33's ran them fer a couple months.
Then I sould them fer $150 fer all 4 with only about 10,000 miles on them.
Those thornturds were the worst tires that I've ever owned fer offroad or street.
I would never buy another set. :nope:
Roll me back over !!!

This is the mount that holds my bed in place....NOT...it's an inch from the bed, though it was meant to mount the bed onto.

Haha, yeah you should try driving it.  Sometimes if I hit the gas or a curb or something just right my springs will get caught on the perches and not go all the way up flush against the top leaf.

so you run over lots of curbs and llittle honda's,you could always put some of the pink rope around em

j/k but that is very dangerous you defeintly need to fix that, they could get hung up in your tire and cause a lock up and that wouldn't be good goin down the highway

Naw I don't hit many curbs unless it's on purpose when I go around slow people or in a parking lot when I wanna pull through the parking space.  Don't worry, I ain't run over no hondas.............................yet

Well I can't drive it right now anyway so the leafs are my last concern.  I have to put my track bar back up first

I seen the picture of you workin on, uhm, in your truck in the "you" thread. Thats awsome, I did that with my dodge and my dads chevy. Its so nice being able to get in there and have all that room. Makes the engine look tiny. I wish my old camaro had half that much room, I really dreaded changing spark plugs. bluh

That's why I have a fullsize, it's soo much easier to work on than a little truck.  However, I'll be downsizing later on when I get bored with this one, but not any time soon.  It's handy to get up under there.  A tune up is a piece of cake :yesnod:

Freak,
You should check out FTE.com (Ford truck enthusiast) lots of good info more up to date crowd not the "sticks in the mud",  I have had lots of 67-72 highboys lookin at your pics I kinda think you have an F-100 that was converted to 8 lug. Thats why your rear springs dont fit the U bolts/block, the front hipinion is a bolt in from a 77-79 then the 8 lug stuff bolts on up, the rear D60 also bolts in except for the difference in spring pack width from 1/2 to 3/4 ton and the U joints. These things are like Yotas sooo tough and soooo easy to wrench on, you've got a great start there, any?'s ask away, good luck!

I have a '79 f-150 frame and front end, and '70 f-250 rear end and body and engine.  It's pretty pieced togethere..it's a PITA to find some of teh chassis parts cuz it's mixed up....  I am on FTE, but they're kinda sticks in teh mud there.  They don't allow a lot of stuff and it gets really frustrating, so I'd just as soon hang out here and have the people that I know and get along with help me.  I got in trouble on my first post over there, so i said flop em.  It was somethin dumb... :smack:

Ok, so I got home late the other day, I had a 3:30 apointment with my uncle and stepdad to help me fix my truck.  I got home at 7 with my boys cuz I was workin and lots of stuff was goin wrong.  They had already had my track bar mount welded up, frame boxed in, and was workin on drilling the holes for the steerin box.  I couldn't believe it! I stayed out there till dark workin on puttin my steering box in and putting in my new stabilizer.  I was able to drive it to its parking spot last night!! :hyper: I have to match the gears, and fix my hub (A wheel stud fell out) then I'll be able to drive it more often :hyper: More updates as i get it done  :driving:

My dad had an older (70's) green F-100 with a 3 on the tree and that thing was a hot rod...he hadnt done much to it but it was pretty quick and it could get the tires chirping real easy! Now he HAD to get the benz...haha jk my mom made him get rid of the truck about 5 years ago so we got a 1990 F250 4x4 lifted on 35"s and its pretty sweet, it has a lot of power and it is pretty well muffled, but is mostly stock. That truck is dying though. Last week we drove it and we were going up a hill that it never has trouble on and it choked hardcore and the engine died. I took it out later and tried the hill later and it had no trouble, but this truck isnt in great shape anymore....time for a nice F-350 Powerstroke 4x4...

Ok, :disturbed: I took my truck out for a test run after it's been sittin since the beginning of may (due to no reg/insurance).  It handled pretty well, can still use a bit of help there, but I have motor and gear oil allll over my undercarriage, water in my rear diff, and prolly my tcase and whatever else it could get in since i flooded it at PC :smack:

So the "rear end shop" says that my rear axle isn't a '70, it is in fact out of a mid 80's ford, meaning in order to gear it I have to get a new carrier  :tantrum: We'll see...I got just under 2 weeks to get it figured out and finished  :crossed:

Ok, it's been decided that instead of swapping out my gears and carrier, I'm just gonna go to pnp tomorrow and pull a whole freakin rear axle.  I figured it's cheaper and even less complicated, just need the manpower and I think I got that covered  :gap: Now I just gotta find one  :hammer:
