WOW....  :yikes:

I just did a search on Autotrader for Toyota 4x4 pickups, years 1985 to 1988, anywhere, any price, any models.

I got only 6 vehicles from $5,501 to $41,500. ???

Eliminating the 1986 Turbo for $41,500 and the purple 1987 for $25,995, the 1986 flatbed for $14,497, the 1985 with no photo for $5,501, that leaves a 1987 Regular Cab with 315,345 miles for $8,990 and a 1988 with 89,600? miles for $10,000.

It never would have crossed my mind to list a vehicle on auto trader.

Try Facebook market place ( :stopit: )and see what you come up with.

More importantly, what's the status of the engine? I'm hoping to see you finish it before this forum kicks the bucket completely.

I tried looking on Facebook Marketplace, but it was way too restrictive and difficult to search.

I did to a search on Google and discovered there are 100s of early Toyota pickups listed.

So, I guess these pickups are NOT as scarce as I first thought.

Regarding my engine...  I'm still working on saving my funds to make a purchase at LC Engineering.  I was hoping to get an engine installed this year, but it may be 2026.  :(

In my area, the scarcity is the low price when it comes to restoration rigs, or even entry level rigs to build for trail use.  Rigs I used to get for between $300-1000, start at $3k.  Most of anything in stock "good used" condition is $8-15k, the up to the $30's.  Not sure if they sell for those kind of prices, can't see to many banks financing car loans on 30-45 yr old Toyota trucks, which is probably why side-by-sides have become so popular.
