So I have an issue with the VSS on my Low Range transfer case. For example, If I'm doing 40mph, the speedo hits 40, then bobs back and forth from 30 - 40... I jumped on the Low Range site and ordered a new part.

What I received (Trail Gear) was different than the part I have. So I contacted Low Range, spoke with Dylan, sent him photos, and the replacement part was on it's way.

Problem is, it does not work... is there a trick to this? It installs in 30 seconds.

Wondering if anyone has had issues with this.

Thanks in advance for the replies.

I probably can't help you, but you'll need to provide a little more information about your vehicle for others I would expect.

2003 Tacoma Prerunner.  I have an Inch Worm TC from Low Range, and the VSS is crapping out. I contacted them and they sent me a Trail Gear part, and it does not work at all. A non-functioning VSS throws a PO500 code, so the check engine light came on. I put the old VSS back in and the light is gone. Speedo bounces all over the place.
