How much longer are stock rear 89+springs than the springs in my 87?  The reason I'm asking is I need to corect my shackle angle.  My new 9" shackles are nearly verticle and I'd like to be somewhere closer to 45 degrees.

IronClad

they are like a 51 or 52"  vs  your current 48 and the center pin is either an inch or 2 inch difference

They are 52" eye to eye.  They have 2 more inches more length on either side of the centering pin.  So they would help your shackle angle but your wheelbase would get 2" longer in the process.  So for the love of god shorten your shackles and gain some lift in a different way!  9" is tooooooo long mang.  ;)
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Amen, brotha!
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Thanks for the info Iron Clad and WT.  I think I would like to lengthen my wheel base a little anyway.  Off to the junk yard.  As for shortening my shackles I think I will refer to Iron Clad on that.  Your old ones were about that long correct?  Do you still run them?  What do you think?

IronClad

you gonna run these in the rear aye ?  i ran a 8" eye to eye shackle previously

Yea, These are on the rear?  They are actually 9" total so somewhere close to 8" eye to eye.  I don't see the harm in running an 8" shackle in the back.  ???

IronClad

thats what i ran..  i also ran a 8"eye to eye shackle along with a ford shackle  for a drop setup. works great  with flat springs since if you have the proper angle  it will droop quite alot. run em !
