Can I get a little help with some old brake tech?  Looking to upgrade the brakes on my 84 pickup. I purchased the vented rotors from Marlin. Looking at calipers on napa's website, 94 v6 pickup and v6 4runner have different part numbers. In the pictures one is marked S12W and the other S13WB. Which one do I want ?

I'm running the s12w. Those fit with 15" rims, But getting ready to upgrade to 2017 4runner rotors and calipers. Which require a 17" rim.

Do the 2017's use the ifs hubs? I think the ifs hubs w/ taco calipers and rotors is how I may go on my 1980. I only run 35's, so I'll probably stick with 15's.

I found this on another forum. If its true I may need to contact MC about what calipers go with their rotors.

"There are '89 to '91 V-6 IFS rotors and calipers and there are '92 to '95 IFS V-6 rotors and calipers. The later calipers are larger and the rotors are about 5mm thicker.

These rotors and calipers must be used in their correct pairings."

Yeah ifs hubs turned downed to accept the slip on 2017 rotors..
As far as different rotor, maybe micrometer will be of some use

I used this on my 83: https://frontrangeoffroadfab.com/big-brake-brackets-for-tacoma-4runner-tundra-fj-gx-brakes/

I used 96-02 4Runner rotors and calipers on 16.5 wheels. Not sure if they'll work with 15s.
Time to go wheelin!

This is what I plan on doing with my 1980. I cant remember if it's the taco or 4runner caliper but one of them is supposed to work with 15's.

Best I can tell the s12w is what I need. I think the s13wb was only used on the last couple years of 2nd gen 4runner and t100's. It may work with the fj60 rotor but  I think the s12w is what most people are using.  Marlin crawler had no info on this at all.

Here's an old post of mine that shows the two different calipers. I used the S13WB they are larger. They fit my 15" wheels when I was still IFS and still worked when I did my SAS with an 85 SFA. https://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=77523.0

@OVRAROK I'm also doing the 2017 4Runner brake upgrade on my current build. I ran into a few snags due to bad information given online. Don't cut your IFS hubs to the spec given. Wait until you have your rotors and measure them before you cut or they will fit loose.

There are spacing issues when trying to center the caliper over the rotors. The calipers hit my 17 Raceline beadlocks and need grinding or spacers. I bought Sky's brackets and a friend bought FROR brackets and both had "issues". We ended up having a set cut on a waterjet in !/2" plate.

I can provide a link to my build thread if you want pics and specifics.

I would definitely be interested in specs, thanks

Hopefully I did this link right. The Sky bracket was out of spec.

Also the spec given by both Sky and FROR for the hub OD machining was too small and let the rotor fit too loose. https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/86-xtra-cab-build-4wheelunderground-3-link-front-4-link-rear-and-3-4-swap.1256336/post-14754812

Sorry if I did the links wrong. I went back in my build thread and found these. I messed with the brake upgrade for a while, ended up getting a thicker bracket made and decided to continue with my build and come back to the brake upgrade. It will work out if I either grind my calipers or run a spacer to clear my wheels. Or I can keep my T100 brakes and not have a slip on rotor.
