R154 5th gear synchro drag

I recently built an R154 and it was assembled completely to spec base on Toyota service manuals. I am having an issue with 5th gear dragging while in neutral because the fork seems to be applying pressure onto the synchro. This is causing a gnarly noise when the transmission was in the car but I have pulled it out and pulled it apart to prevent any damage to the new components. There was a thread roughly 9 years ago  that discussed the same issue and this YouTube video was mentioned but no repair was communicated. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
