ive got 2 handhelds, on the trails they are just fine, kinda hard to keep up with when your bouncing around, on the street they dont have very good range.
i recomend getting one to mount inside the cab, i only keep the handhelds for people who dont have cb's.
hope that heps

Talked to my CB Guy about them last time I was setting up my system. He said they were junk unless you always run in a tight group. They just don't get out too well. If you can find any room whatsoever for a solid mount unit, I think you'd be far better off.

i used to have a Midland that i tweaked a little....If you wrap wire around a lightpole and around your antenna, you can get to Arkansas with one...if it's tweaked any way!!

Most handhelds today use the short rubber style antennas which do not get out well especially inside a metal vehicle.  Some older
handhelds will have an extendable antenna with a coil in the center and these can get out if you have it fully extended and not
inside a metal vehicle.  The best upgrade for a handheld is to plug in an external antenna to the output jack or some use a BNC
removable antennna so you connect the CB coax to this output.

I just threw 2 in the trash literally, they were supposed to be good ones but they suck plain and simple.
