Gen 2 Taco on 40's
« on: Apr 19, 2022, 06:38:40 PM »
Originally posted in the RCLT owners section, wanted to share with the community incase anyone else was interested in doing a project similar to this.

So i'm a little dude with a soon to be big truck, sorta like a fat guy in a little coat.

The truck is currently getting:

RCLTHD
ARB Air Lockers
5:29 gears
ARB Compressor
40 inch Cooper's
Raceline wheels
Deaver Rear Springs
Radflo coliovers with remote resi's
RCV Axles

Here are a few pictures the shop has shared with me during the build:

Magic energy suspension unicorn grease.  It would have been nice if this was included in the kit.

New Marrack pass mounting location

ARB Front air line fitting

Steering shaft mod.  I went with the solid shaft and removed the bellows all together.

Nice trim job on the rear wheel openings. What tool(s) did you use to make it so clean?

Hi mfinkelstein,

That's a cats-a$$ looking machine. :gap:

I assume it is "purpose-built".... "overlanding"?

What terrain(s) do you plan to drive over?

Are you planning a long mileage adventure over weeks or months, or short durations trips into more isolated hard-to-get to areas and locations?

Thanks!! Build is coming along. The original plan was to go to Rubicon (Jeepers Jamboree) with some friends  this year but not sure I’m going to make it. Maybe in the fall. Just moved to Idaho. Planing on doing some short duration trips in isolated areas. Looking at areas to explore in the PNW or Montana. Looking forward to getting this truck out in the wilderness.

My buddy has a shop out in Hesperia. He's got a full time job, he does this kind of work on the side. He mostly builds Jeeps. Shop is Dirty's Garage.

Had to relocate some of the engine bay, as well as putting in a smaller wiper fluid reservoir. Stock one was way too big. Everything fit great while adding more up travel.

REALLY nice body work!

What are tire/fender laws where you live?  I won't pass a Safety Check with much more than an inch outside the fenders.

That’s a great question lol. No idea, but I will cross that path soon. I just moved to north Idaho.

Democrat state vs. Republican state maybe a difference.  Hawaii(where I'm at) is Democrat.  Also the farther away from bigger cities I would guess a little more lax in the law.

I hope you'll be good in North Idaho.

Some buy after-market like Bushwacker.  Some run black garden edging.

Some just go illegal, especially if you have a lot of family and friends in corrupt small towns (Hawaii). :shhh:

Lots of people put on their stocks for the Safety Check then swap them back right afterwards.

Corruption? In Hawaii? Blasphemy I tell you. Its all sunshine and rainbows.. Unless your in the cast of 5oh then your likely to die.
