Wheel Hub Rebuild
« on: Feb 04, 2022, 03:25:33 PM »
When rebuilding my hub for a trail gear housing, I replaced both inner and outer hub bearings and races, but upon torquing the adjustment nut or even tightening it I noticed when turning the hub it would catch in two spots, and depending on how tight the adjustment nut was, would become totally unmoveable by hand. Does anyone know why this is?

Apparently, this has remained a mystery for quite awhile.

Adjusting bearings riding in races can be tricky and needs to be done with some "feel".
