HARD to shift front 4.7 case on duals
« on: Oct 16, 2021, 11:50:49 PM »
Goodmorning folks,

03 tacoma v6 auto transmission
Dual cased; front is gear top shift marlin 4.7 and rear is stock 2.28 chain tcase.

It is SUPER hard to shift the 4.7 case from high->Low. The 2.28 is smooth as butter.

I would have to have my truck rolling from 0-5mph and then force the 4.7 from high->low position for it to go into gear. It will not shift on complete stop. Has to be rolling and with me in neutral.

Has anyone ever experience anything like it? I swear my buddies with 5spd 22re dual cases, theirs shifts smooth like butter.

Thank you in advance!

You are in neutral when shifting the 4.7s?

In order for me to shift into 4.7 LOW I have to put in "Drive" so the truck is rolling, then put in "Neutral" and hard shift the 4.7 into "Low".
