My Chev 63 leaf spring center pin gave up on me. The bottom leaf moved where I can see the pin hole that fits a 3/8 drill bit nicely. But the pin threaded body is not a 3/8 for sure. Any one have the right part # or measurements so I can fix this rig ? TIA
Someday I'll have an 85 Yota pickup like Marty Mcfly but in Crawler mode !!!

I have been using 3/8's allen head bolts for years as spring pins for years without a problem!!

How does the Allen head fit into the leaf perch ? Any Grinding or drilling ?  I sheared both pins on the front last trail ride and did a trail fix to get home, was going to get some arp pins but a grade 8 bolt is like the same shear strength

With a broken leaf spring center pin. I would suggest replacing u bolts as well.

Why's that? Think they stretch out or something ? They were loose when I sheared the pins but was just going to lock tight it when I replace them.

I had to grind the head of the bolt a bit!! Spring pin bolts are meant to shear in case you impact something with the wheels!! Learned that from a spring shop in Sacramento!!

I've always used 3/8" bolt and just rounded off the head with a grinder. Never had an issue. The last set I worked on where YJ springs. They use a smaller pin, so I drilled them out to 3/8". That was a pain. I broke a couple drill bits but no way I was using the smaller pins.
