So last night as i am    my buddy calls and wakes me up in great distress.  He had finaly broken his rear axle at 12:35am.  So I drive up to were he was with a hi-lift, a floor jack and some tie downs.  He is running 5.29s with 37" toyo mud terrains that recently replaced 35" boggers, and a freshly rebuilt v6 and a lock-right.   Here are some pics.

He was at a friends party and when he left he lit the tires up and he said after he heard his lockright lock in he heard another snap and he let off.  He had to drive about 5mi home and he said every time he shifted it felt realy loose in the rearend.  About one mile from his house he exited a corner and his ass end dropped about the same time he saw his tire pass him taking out sombodys mail box and a street sign.    :haha:

Funny,
You'd think the Euro tail lights would have prevented such a catastrophe...or might they have caused it? Too much power?
Oh wait, I know:

dude that is weird, i have been wheelin for about 8 years and havent heard of anyone blowing thier rear axle.  you are lucky though, it could have been a ring and pinion, and that would have been a costly repair.  i dont mind breaking things on the trail, but to break a rear axle on the street seem pretty silly to me :screwy:
