Good morning everyone.  As the handle implies, my name is Bill and I live in Hungary!

I've got an '88 IFS 4-Runner that I look to turn into a capable overlander.  Allowances for modifications out here are pretty much zilch, but I figure since no one out here's seen a first gen 4-Runner before (ever) I can probably get away with quite a bit before I run into TUV trouble.

I came to Marlin Crawler to tap your guys' extensive knowledge base.  Things out here have to be ordered for the truck, and we're pretty remote, so that takes quite a bit of time and money (especially if I have to do it twice).  I thought if I started pinging questions and ideas off of this forum, I could probably save myself some serious coin

I have quite a bit of Hungarian DNA in me.  My parent's family name is Almási. 

Do your research before making any serious decisions or purchases.  There can be a number of options for sourcing and pricing. 

I've read from others who have posted here about their "overlander" vehicles.  What are the essentials for a well setup overlander where you are?

I believe you are 9 hours ahead of me in the State of Arizona.

By the way I know what HUF is, but what is TUF?
