hi, i need some help with this. i have a third gen 4runner and i want to do a solid axle swap with some 80s 4runner/pickup rear leafs. i want to get about 5inches of lift since i will be running 35s,and will have about 5 inches in the rear. and i was wondering if i could combine 2 leafs into one and maybe add an add a leaf for the weight of the motor. i think this should be possible but im dumb, and dont know. any info from you guys would really help. thanks.

:welcome: I've had great luck with ruf. It's pretty standard to mix two sets of springs, making 6 or 7 leaf packs.  That said, for the weight of a 3rd gen 4runner, I think you may be better off going with an aftermarket spring that will handle that kind of weight better. If your set on trying a ruf setup, maybe look into what you can do with a set of old man emu HD rear springs.  Also, 7 leaf packs are the limit before you run into clearance issues between the spring and the tie rod, so I don't see having room for an add a leaf.

I had trail gear 3" leaves front and rear on my last 3rd gen 4runner and they worked fairly well. The rears blew out after 2 yrs of trips but for the price they weren't bad
