I have a 1997 supercharged 4runner automatic that I just got done with a solid axel swap, I have the trail gear adapter plate with passenger drop gear driven cases. I replaced the rear output shaft seal on the trans as recommended but I'm getting transmission fluid in the cases. What am I missing here.

We are not familiar with the specific adapter plate setup that Trail Gear uses. However, with our adapter plates, we include a seal housing extension that we install our heavy duty output seal onto:

When installing this seal housing extension, we recommend putting a bit of silicone on the end of it when inserting into the transmission to ensure a better seal. If Trail Gear has this same seal housing, then we would recommend trying that. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm if our seal will work with their adapter plate setup.

If this does not work or that is not how their plate is set up, then you might want to contact them directly.
