Wipers don't swing with washer fluid button

Hi guys,

My wipers appear to function correctly when adjusted with the lever, but when I press the washer fluid button, the wipers don't swing. I'm assuming they should be swinging when I press the washer fluid button. Does anyone know what I should be checking to fix the issue?

Nothing's broken, that's just how they are. Old Toyota quirks.

not sure of all models but my non sr5 85 4runner starts wiping when I press the fluid button

Hmm, learn something new every day. All three of my Toyotas have had the wipe and spray functions separate. I've had an '87 4Runner SR5, and two '88 Pickup DLX's. The SR5 stalk had cruise and intermittent wipers, the one DLX had intermittent wipers and the other just had high and low, but neither had cruise. I would have thought I'd had all the different configurations.
