1985 truck 6000$
« on: Jun 12, 2019, 09:52:46 AM »
Location is tucson Arizona.

It’s time to move on to some other projects gotta let the Toyota go. I’m going to copy and paste the written words over from my Craigslist post. This truck would be a good one to make serious rock crawler or leave it.

Thanks

1985 Toyota Truck

drive: 4wd
fuel: gas
title status: clean
transmission: manual

I have 1985 Toyota Truck pickup I bought in 2012. 22r engine 5 speed manual.

6000$ or best offer

So much work and money has gone into this. I never thought I would sell it but progress on other projects demand it. I’ll try and list everything.

Engine and transmission rebuilt in late 90s by previous owner. Previous owner also built flat bed and roll cage.

Check out marlin crawlers website and LCE performance website to see these upgrades

I have done the following all myself and was previously ASE (automotive society of engineers) certified as well as a certified welder. I’ll list the price that I paid for the different things that I can remember off the top of my head.

old man emu lift springs, shocks, greeseable shackles cost 1300$
Shims on rear axle to correct pinion angle after lift
Front axle knuckles resealed and lubed.
15” aluminum wheels with 33” bfg all all-terrain’s 1100$
Offy performance intake
Weber carb with snorkel hat
K&N Apollo sealed air cleaner
Remote Axle breathers
Headman header
Diff armor front and rear
Rebuilt and sealed aisin locking hubs.
Recent valve job and milled head
new camshaft and rockers
Marlin Crawler highsteer kit 350$
Marlin Crawler frame reinforcing plates for steering box.
D.U.I distributor with live wire plug wires. 425$
LCE spark plug wire loom/bracket
Replaced all wheel bearings and seals.

Custom front bumper (better built than anything you can find to buy) Simlar bumpers built by RoadArmor cost around 2700$ but I guarantee they arnt mounted near as well. This truck has 14 - 1/2 inch bolts holding it on to the frame of the truck. 1/4 inch mounting plate. Nothing like the aftermarket bumpers that are held on with 4 - 3/16 inch bolts held in shear. I’ve included a couple pictures of the bumper mounting. The winch plate is 1/4. I welded in 2 trailer mounts for hooks or literally any accessory you wanted to mount there like a ice chest holder or dirt bike carrier. I have a cover plate with tamper proof screws to cover the bolts for the winch and bumper so no one steals it.

I welded in bar disconnects for the rear of the cage so you can unbolt them and load something taller then the cage into the back.

New front marker lights with led bulbs
Led tail lights. Led turn signals front and rear.
Starter
Huge custom battery cables and post clamps
Vision x head lights with H 4 bulb conversion. Upgraded heavy gauge wiring for head lights. With little fuse water proof fuse box. Makes them way brighter!
Custom drive shafts. 300$ each
Upgraded brake booster from land cruiser 260$ and 4runner master cylinder 70$
Front and rear gears are 4.88 in v6 3rd members
3 Gauge A piller cluster (have gauges but not yet installed)
Rigid industries dually d2 led pod lights 350$ wired right with waterproof relay
Gorilla lug locks
Short throw shifter from marlin crawler 140$
Performance ceramic puck clutch (works better in tough Offroad situations and not jumpy on road)
clutch master and slave cylinder.
Flywheel
I made wooden stake sides. the sides could stand to be remade but rear one is well made. (I’m remaking them as I have time)
Extended stainless steel brake hoses
Just adjusted valves
Newer bench seat
Fuel pressure regulator with a/n fittings and stainless steel hoses and lines
Hi lift jack and mounts
Reinforced front axle and knuckles
Brand new Optima red top battery 250$ with ballistic fabrication battery mount
I have replaced heater core hoses and
Radiator hoses
Water pump
Radiator fan, fan shroud and fan clutch
New gasket and marlin crawler seal on rear of transfer case/output shaft
New marlin crawler seals on both diffs
Warn winch Vr8000
Carb spacer to stop heat transfer from intake to carb
This truck also has a RF1A gear driven transfer case = rock solid.

I have but not installed:

driveshaft ebrake from sord Offroad $320
Gauges- tach, oil pressure and sender. Low oil pressure alert light.
Upgraded 4Runner brake calipers and land cruiser rotors.

Pretty much everything has been replaced and or rebuilt on this truck. It can be used as a daily driver. I’ve been daily driving it 40miles one way to work no issues.

List goes on and on. I’ll add more as I remember.
