my new non tow rig or trailer- 1955 international R-162
« on: Jan 24, 2019, 11:45:39 AM »
not exactly a tow rig or a trailer but a good hauler.

I just picked up this international R-162 dump truck to work around the property and because it was just cool.

here she is loaded on the trailer when I picked her up in Clarkston. she weighs in around 8,500LBS empty so it was a decent load.

Very cool! What are your plans with it, will it go back on the road or just service your property?

She is registered for the road right now. As long as that road does not require more than 45 mph because that is about where she maxes out at.

I plan to use her to haul gravel, dirt and construction debris for our house build then after that she will probably get some upgrading. I am focusing on which direction to go to make her do 65. Basically better brakes and gearing/hp. For now I just need to get out there and wash her.

I actually bought the international first but just posted now. Lol. The international is not getting anything besides keeping it functional for now

Yeah it's probably pretty useful as is, but you could totally chop it and drop it and make a sick rat rod.
