Engine mounts

I ordered a t/c w/4.70's and I'm researching ways to keep from tearing my engine mounts. has any one tried the engine mounts from LC Engineering?

I know alot of people use a chain to the top of th mount then weld it tight so that it only gets pulled on when needed to keep stress down on the mount..I have not had a problem yet.. :up:

im using the rockstomper mounts. they add a little vibration to the truck, but its not too bad. got sick of tearing up mounts. i had replaced 4 before i put them in.

don't go with the L.C's unless your desert racing,  I had them and they rattled me out of the truck,  I mean it shook so bad I couldn't even turn up or down the stereo, should you ever go to dual crawlers, the extra t-case mount will make a difference.  Let me know if you come up with anything, I'm looking for something different.

Thats why some are using a chain..You still can keep you stock mounts but have extra strength while the engine is under a heavy load such as crawling...

where exactly is the chain? do you have a pic for reference. I just put in new toyota mounts and they provide such a better ride than rockstompers and i don't want to tear them as they are not cheep.

Yea,,I have a pic somewhere..The chain would go on top of the motor mount to the frame..You only want it long enough so that when x-amount of tension is put on the motor mount the chain gets tight and the motor mount can't pull any further..I;ll find that pic...

Roger Brown details this on his website.  I chained my motor mounts and am also using a transfer case crossmember from Front Range Off-Road to limit excess torquing of the drivetrain.  I don't have much room between my steering shaft and turbo housing and I do not want them coming into contact with one another.

I have duals, 175-1 and chained the frame to the engine block next to the engine mount, there are 3 or so holes for a 14 mm bolt tapped there for mount locations. I also have a bud xmember with dual tranny mounts, has worked great to this day and not one broken mount.

I used the chains and still broke them.  

I'm running an AOR mounts and they do give a lot of vibration...

for full trail use, go with the aftermarket mounts and forget about it...

for 80% street, 20% off road, go with chains.

Thats becaue you can't use gold chains for the BLING BLING!!

 When i put rockstompers motor mounts in they did not fit! On a 85 extra-cab with auto and 22re engine damm company anyway. I will never buy from them again!

i've heard the rockstomper mounts are best when you only use one, and use a stock mount on the other side.  i've heard of fitment issues when using 2 of them

 Yea i only got one side to go on not good. They need to fix it and make it better i think.

I am running a set on my runner and there were nothin short of a pain in the  to get on . And you definently get some more road vibration out of them and they seemed to lift the motor a little higher than stock. But know problems yet
