Since they locked the post....The facts require a follow up, full disclosure etc.

After nearly a full month (ordered on Jan 29, finally was able to contact via phone on Feb 26) I spoke to the sales manager.  Lots of apologies.  He basically said he didnt know what had gone wrong and really had no excuse.  I *do* appreciate honesty.  But he was repentant and apologetic.  I told him that he needs to implement a change in his POS tool where if a sale is more than something like 5 days old and has no activity, the sales team should be pinged to follow up, and contact the customer, provide some explanation.  He agreed that was warranted.

I also explained to him how I had gone to the store site and filled out the form asking for info about my order, no bueno, silencio.  He said that was not uncommon and would be a follow-up with the team.

I am reasonable - I understand backorders, somebody had a baby, there have been fires and mudslides, the Grateful Dead are getting back together whatever.  But I cannot abide a vendor taking my money and keeping it for a month with no communication whatsoever and no product.

To Cheesemaker, who closed the other post - there you go, calling me names again (pregnant dog).  I say you are a nothing but an advertising shill for Marlin Crawler.  If you arent getting paid, you should be.  Perhaps he's your friend, great, I have business friends too, and I shill for them, but Im not trying to hide it.  I have NO respect for you running a forum called "board dot marlincrawler dot com" and then chastising someone who comes in and speaks uncomfortable truths about your friend's business THE NAME OF WHICH IS THE BOARD.  Get over it.  Whether you want it to or not, this forum is one of the only means of commo with marlincrawler dot com.  It IS the business.  They DO NOT ANSWER their email, a point I discussed with the sales manager.  If you had a conscience, you would have your FRIEND Marlin by the ear, rubbing his face in this kind of bad customer foo.

Ban me, whatever, I dont care.  I fully expect you to delete my posts, can't have any bad publicity for Father Marlin, now can we?  I think instead you should PIN these posts to the top of the forum so every potential new customer can read them.  Yeah, betcha aint got the stones for that.

Full Disclosure:  MarlinCrawler finally responded to my repeated calls.  Apparently I am to get my part (I got a Fedex track yesterday) and a T-shirt.  After having this similar situation happen twice now, I am sorry to report that my Chief Financial Officer has directed me that I am never again to purchase from Marlin Crawler.

I had poor customer service from Marlin on my Clutch.  Its been a year and maybe 6,000 miles.  They sent the wrong part, they backordered a part.  No communication.  I forget.  I put it out to pasture and dont worry about it.  Clutch seems to work fine.  The original worked 145-150 thousand miles.

Currently I have the Latte cream on bottom of Oil Cap.  Headgasket I presume.  I have gathered some parts and have not tore it apart yet.

During my waiting for parts, the stuff went on sale.  I asked them if they would get me a credit since I was still waiting.  That fell on deaf ears as well.
I do hope Marlin gets their customer service fixed.  You only have one chance to make a first impression.
