I just picked up an 87 4Runner with a rough country lift and he blocks in he back . What would be the first steps in building a moderate crawler/overland vehicle . I'm running 33 x 12.50s. I Am considering the SAS but also considering upgrading the ifs instead?  What is a recommended selectable locker as well? I've done a fair amount of research but not enough to make a decision . Any option is appreciated even the shitty ones . Thanks

I'm all about the SAS but if you are sticking with 33's you'd want to do your homework on keeping it low enough. They do have low profile front hangers now. I think 4 inch lift springs would be to high for you. I have 37's on mine and I think I'm a little too high. Maybe consider the stock rears in the front and Chevy's in the rear. I'm a big crawler so I'm all about the SA but overlanding you might want to just upgrade the IFS.
