Hello everyone, if you are like me, you are missing some of the frame plugs in your frame.
You know, those ones that keep dirt, sand, salt, all that other crap out.

You'd probably also know, that they fall out. Chances are, you don't have any. Well, hopefully that will change!

On my 1985 Pick up, I was missing a few, now I popped off one of the remaining ones and headed to my work at a Toyota dealer to see if they could find them in their system. However, they couldn't due to the parts being no longer available.

But, I didn't lose hope, I went to a junk yard that had a couple 87' 4Runners and pulled some of the plugs on them, here's what they look like next to the older style: (Posting on my phone, pictures will be at the end of the post)

The plugs are mainly the same, just one is longer. No fret, they both fit and in my opinion, work better.

And, you can get these from Toyota still!
The part number for the later style is: 90950-01395
You can get these for a few bucks a piece from your dealer, which means that you hopefully won't have to much garbage (or mice nests like me) getting into your frames. I'll update this when I get mine in from Toyota, I'll be ordering them soon.

Anywho, thought I'd share this for those missing theirs.

Why not just use a piece of duct tape?

Because OEM! No, you are right, but this is obviously just a solution for someone wanting the complete solution.

BTW, nice find..........

Do they get brittle and break (like other clips Toyota uses) with age when you try to remove them?

Not the ones I've found. On my Pickup with 330K they didn't snap or break and still stayed in great afterwards.
