Is this an R151 gearbox? Help identifying please.
« on: Apr 03, 2017, 06:21:26 AM »
Hi guys, I have found this gearbox advertised and I am wondering if someone could identify it for me? According to the ad it is from a 2.8 turbo Hilux. To my untrained eye it looks like it could possibly be an R151. I'd like to know if it is before I bid.

That is all of the pictures in the ad. Thanks in advance :)

I don't believe it is as my R151 is forward shift transfer case setup and that has a top shift transfer case.

I know in the US, I quick way to identify a r151f is the black rubber plug on the bottom of bellhousing. But in Aussie, behind a diesel, it may have different bellhousing on it

Agreement with the above posts. She is a top shift. All r151's to my knowledge were forward shift. Looks to be a w56b since the center plate is steel. The A was aluminum.

I think you guys are right, I just went and had a look at my R150F and the casting on the case is quite different. Oh well, this may still be of use to me yet. Thanks again for everyone's help :)
