Need pics of the Marlin Hanger Kit mounted on an 85 front end. Seen plenty of the IFS front ends set-up. But nned to get an idea of what you guys are doing about the front stock hanger on an 85 frame?

Thanks-

Cut as much of the spring mounts off as possible.  If there is a gap in the middle put a piece of plate to fill the gap and weld it in.  I had to put a 1/8 inch plate on mine.  I made my own crossmember, but it should be pretty close.

Call Dean at Marlins, he just did this to his 85

So correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't I just weld it on the same way as an IFS frame? But I would have top part of the original sprin hangers visable. The IFS frame makes the front all smooth surface to weld to. Is the 85 frame not even? why would I need to wld in a added plate Hyena ?

Thanks man

Here is Roger Browns 85 4Runner, 4crawler.com Thats what I meant by the same, doesnt matter if its IFS or factory SA, drop hanger mounts the same. You could check out White Trashes design at $300 in the project research section. Youll see lots of diferent designs but they all mount under the crossmember

her is mine.  you can see the gaps.  i used 1/8 inch plate to fill the gap.  You can cut all of the old spring hanger off.  There is about 1/8 of it that will stay becasue the frame tubes go into it like that.

i had to cut out my front cross member, and buils a new one, its not 1/4 wall solid, no weight saving wholes like the toy ones
