Okay, so I've contacted a supplier for my adapter for a TDI engine to an R150F V6 Transmission. He said yeah I got what you need no problem to get it to work.

Thing is prospect truck has an A340 behind it's 3.4 blown engine. So I asked about the adapter for a 3.4 auto.

Guy making adapter plate said no go!

Question is what's the differences between the two transmissions that would make one not bolt up over the other.

From what I've read of people going from Auto to Manual on the 3.4 mating the two up isn't an issue, that's why I'm confused, what is getting in my way of an auto not mating to the adapter when a manual would? HMMM

Well I see the starter is different P/N on oreilly's, but for the most part look very similar. I wouldn't assume that's an issue.

Call advance adapters. They will take care of you.

It's not listed on the website as an option, but I will call.

I just hope if it's something not listed on the site it's not going to mean huge dollars

You aren't the first to do this. They will have a jig setup for it I'm sure. Shouldn't be bad.

So I think I've figured out why I can't get an adapter for the AUTO,

My dumb self forgot that the automatics use a flex plate and the manuals use a flywheel.

Only difference, sucks no one wants to build me a flex plate.

I called advance adapters and got turned away by guy who answered the phone.

This seems odd, so there is no flexplate available from VW that can be redrilled to fit the A340 TC? I know guys do other diesel swaps with the auto. Maybe the question should be what auto can you bolt the TDI to? The Jeep AW4 is the same trans different bellhousing and a few minor other things. Do they make adapters to bolt a AW4 to a TDI? Sounds like either way you'll be buying extra stuff.
