3rd member ratio ?
« on: Apr 05, 2005, 03:59:23 PM »
I recently scored a complete rear end from a 92 SR5 xcab 4x with a V6 and an Auto tranny. I don't know the vin# and would like to know what the gear ratio is. The dealer says eihter 4:10, 4:56 or 4:75(4:88?) There is no tag or id #'s that I can see.
Please help.
Thanks

I thought trucks with autos had lower ratios.I heard on this board somewhere that auto trans trucks with stock tire size got 4.30 gears, and autos with the optional 31" tires got 4.88s or something like that.  I guess it's not set in stone though...
