Shock Tower Placement

I have a question about shock tower placement for those that have completed a SAS on a Tacoma...

Do the shock towers need to be installed in the same position as one another?  For instance, my driver side is exactly where it needs to be as there is zero space to re-locate it to match the passenger side. Both CO's are on the axle at the same location.

That said, the passenger side is 1" further back than the driver side but, which also has the CO at a different angle than the driver side CO. There is room to move it forward to match the driver side.  I've been told it does not matter.

What I am experiencing is wheel hop on the driver side while making a gradual RT turn after I hit a pothole or bump in the street.

Any ideas/ suggestions are appreciated.

What matters is smooth articulation of the axle/ shocks along thier travel path. If your bottom mounts are in different spots then your tops could be in different spots too.

It is not your shock placement.   But please expound on wheel hope.

^^ The DS wheel hops after hitting bumps... it does go away if I slow down.  It did this the night I drove it home, and has since.
Everything is tight as a drum which did help quite a bit.

I can't figure it out.  By staring at everything with the wheels off, it doesn't appear there would be an issue.  The wheelbase is the same as are the link brackets on the frame for both sides which means the links cycling together would eliminate the chance of any indifference, correct?

Thanks for the replies.

I'd pop some new truinion bearings and wheel bearings in since they are cheap, then double check torque spec's after install. Also make sure the TRE's are nice and tight to the steering arms.

Also, to clarify...you're having death wobble in one tire and not the other? Correct?

Death wobble... not sure if it's that, it actually hops, comes off of the ground, shakes the truck.
I did Google Death Wobble, and from what the video depicted, I am not experiencing that.

And yes, only the DS is hopping.

Would this be a good time to get the 25mm kit from MC?

You have better than the 25mm pin from Marlin, you have Front Ranges 25mm pin plus keyed knuckles and arms. You already have the best.
