Looks like the trip is now fully booked.  I think the 1996 Suzuki Sidekick will be our greatest challenge out of the listed rigs.

Its Brandon.  He is my Best Friend, ahhh.  Aside from my own projects we ordered up an OME 4.5 lift kit for it and it will be getting maxxis 31".   That being said it will be stock drivetrain but at least he will have more traction and ground clearance so he shouldn't need a tug ever 5minutes.  Also he is not scared of a little rubbing...

He should be set for the trip and probably more.  OME has great suspension kits.  I don't see one over 1.25 inch listed on their website for a 1996 Sidekick, but I'm sure not everything is listed.  Which Maxxis tires?
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.

I am home with  a "sick" kid today so plan to see about getting my passenger rear shock lower bolt replaced with the correct size.  It fell out in Moab and is currently one or two sizes too small.  I'll be removing the driver's size nut to match the size and heading for the hardware store.

Correct.  It's it's OME 1.5" springs from RockyRoadOutfitters.  It also comes with 2" coil spacers and 2" body lift.  If you get too steep with lift the CV shafts up front will have too much angle and require 3rd member to be dropped which the jlx sport model has zero lift kits available like this, such as the Calmini versions...  this is the most affective and affordable way to get lift on this model with out putting Toyota drivetrain and$$$ in to it.   I believe he is set on the  maxxis bighorn tires.  He chose em to save a little $ as well

Shock bolt has been replaced. I also put a lock nut on both sides to avoid a future repeat.

Update on the 96 sidekick.  Going with an Alteredegomotorsports 4.5" full suspension lift.  This thing may end up even better than initially thought. Actually a little jelly now.

I would like to start working up a vehicle trail order.
What do you recommend John?
I know all the drivers and vehicles very well.
I will start adding vehicle information so you can come up with a lineup.

I guess your assessment of rig capability ranked top to bottom and the same for driver's experience/skill.  Anybody else have a winch?

My initial thought would be to have the two of us play trail boss and tail gunner so that we always have a winch equipped built rig surrounding the group.  I have no experience with the trails so don't really know what to expect. I suspect the gate obstacle might provide the best information for which rig/driver we need to be the most supportive of.

You mean to tell me that my many seconds of hard work figuring out a preliminary convoy order may have been in vain?  Tell anyone thinking about bailing on you that they need to check their egos and have some respect for my time. I will never get those few few seconds back!

I have my :eye: on them...

Looks like James with the Jk will have to miss our event. His family had a dog emergency. Emergency surgery used up all money set aside for tires.
He has pledged to come to the next event He is invited to.

I talked to Wheeler, He says that He will let Me know if He is coming on Wednesday. I expect that if He is still on the fence He most likely is a no go.
I did put out a couple additional invites to a few more guys I know.

Openings available if any Marlin friends would like to come along.

Dustin has never been on an actual organized Offroad adventure.
And young Jesse had one day trip under his belt.
We still have rookies just no virgins.

Where was the day trip to?  Dustin made it up that one hill so...well...maybe that means we need to teach a slightly less throttle demanding driving style.

The more stock their rigs the more necessary it is for them to learn proper use of throttle and momentum...assuming they don't have trashing their rigs as a goal.
