Doing some planing for engin transplant
Looking at either a stock 450hp crate 6.0L ls or 560hp 6.2L
And wondering if the 6L80e (from a caddy) 4x4 box will handle either package or will a 4L80e be a better option

running 8" high pinion front and 9.5" rear with 4.88:1 aftermarket gears (no factory thin 4.88) and 37" as a daily driver (possible thinking 5.29:1 as I've been told is a stronger setup)

The 6L80E is a great transmission. They make custom paddle shifters for those and they can be tuned greatly. Look up dookies revenge on pirate. He did the 6.2 swap in his TJ with the 6L80E  :driving: As for the 5.29......don't know how they would like the 560hp lol
90'4runner......lots of goodies.

Yeah there are a couple threads on Pirate about them. I have dabbled into tap shift parts for them for a few guys. I will have one of those trans in something. Sooner than later I hope.

Being from Australia the 6l80e is a common box but only in 2wd biggest bix sold in mass in 4x4 would be a 4l60e
We can get 4l80e to suit stanard Toyota transfer case or if smaller engine used a 700r

For the same price as a crate 6.0 and second hand 6l80e with transfer case I can get a used 30,000mile 6.6 duramax with auto and transfer but no one in Aust that I can find has managed to fit on in a mini truck
