Fried my ecu?
« on: Jan 22, 2016, 04:57:05 PM »
When I was going to time my 1987 4runner by jumping a wire from t to e1 but I accidentally touched e1 to +B so it sparked then when I tried to start it back up it just cranked and I can't get the cel to illuminate from t and e1 or when I turn the keys on? Sound like ecu got fried? I opened it up and the circuit board all looked and smelled fine so I'm wondering if that is the problem.

have you looked into a bad fuse or a fusible link?

Must have missed it!   :cheese:

After looking at the FSM, I would check the EFI 15A fuse.  And the E1 terminal does go to the ECM.  But it seems to be a ground anyway.  Which does tie into the ECM.
