Power to Coil
« on: Aug 13, 2015, 04:49:23 PM »
I have a 1985 Toyota 4 Runner.  I lost power to the coil on my last trip out.  I ran a wire to the coil from the battery directly and the truck started right up.  I can't figure out why I am not getting power to the coil from the ignition.  All fuses are good at the panel unless I am missing an inline fuse somewhere.  All suggestions are appreciated.  I am hitting the Dusy in about 4 weeks and would rather not have my jumper cable being used.  Thanks.

RIP KYOTA

Check for a fusible link off the battery.  They are a softer wire designed to burn out if overloaded.  I swapped mine out for fuses.  Easier to see if they pop.
Miss ya Dean (4THEWKN) & Kyle (KYOTA)!!

check for continuity between harnesses and connectors until you find the culprit
