Source for Door Window Seals - '84 - '88?
« on: May 02, 2015, 09:45:08 PM »
Anyone know where to buy the door window seals for 2nd gen pickups?  I've searched around quite a bit and can find just about every other seal for this truck but not this one.

I'm talking about the seal that fits into the channel that the window rides in.  I need one for my driver's door.  My doors have the vent windows and I only need the seal for the big window.

Thanks!

I pulled some from the junkyard for cheap because the only ones I could find new were oem and pricey. You could probably find what you need from one of the people on the forums parting out toyotas but my experience has been that they ask to much $$. It's a back yard business for some of these guys but their prices aren't even comparable to the local wrecking yards. Keep yours out on ebay too.

Drtyluvn, let me know when you take yours out.  I need one for the passenger side.  I love the wing windows, and the passenger side one, gets all buggered up, when the window gets rolled down.  I think I need a new one, or one that will stay in place when the window gets rolled down.

That's a really good question, I don't know whether they're side-specific or not.  I can't see why they would be, but just in case, I need the driver's side one!

Since my truck doesn't have AC, the vent windows are nice as they direct a nice forceful stream of air at you at road speed without the noise right in your ear of having to roll a full window down a little bit.

cheesemaker

i havent taken out the passenger side yet as my runner came with a solid window on that side
i will take it apart tonite if you are interested in it
let me know what you want and if you want to see it before i remove it from the door

idk if you meant that your seals drop out of the door frame when you open your window but mines dont do that

i will have all parts available from this side as well
this door more than likely will be used for half doors soon

The seal I need is for a wing window door.  It's what the window rolls up into, that sits in the door frame.  It has a groove where the window slides up and down in, and fit in at the top, so to keep water out.  Mine doesn't stay an in place and I have to fiddle with it, to make it go back in place.

But since your passenger side window doesn't have the wing window, you don't have what I need.

im sorry, let me clarify what i said
I actually have both driver/pass doors that are winged that came on my truck that is now junked
now that i swapped to a 4runner my pass door is wingless so i didnt need to convert anything and have the extra **winged door** from the truck
my 4runner driver door was damaged so i had to convert my good **truck winged** door to wingless

hope this clarified it

cheesy
i know which seal you are looking for now
the seal stays inside the frame and doesnt come out when window is rolled down
i will be gutting this door to make a half doors soon
all seals, wing glass, metal guides, seals/wipes that sit on the ledge/door sill, regulator and main glass will be available if interested
rather sale as a whole package if possible

it will be posted in classified soon once i take it apart

I just really need the window track seal.  I don't know what the prices are new for them, so I will say $25 shipped?

I'm not in any big hurry for it.  I rarely get passengers in my truck.
