Quick question. Can you re thread a cold start injector on a 1994 22re or can you use some type of Teflon tape to stop gas leak. Or is there a quick fix. Thanks stranded

Cold start injector uses copper crush washers.  Just like you use in banjo bolts on brake calipers, and fuel line filter.

Ok. i got some washers from the local Toyota dealership that was for my make and model. But they looked more like nickel. They weren't like the gas brass washers. The ones that came off were brass, but lost one. So I got 4 and replaced them all. It still leaked in the same spot by the plenum, inside washer.  Long story short the gas line from the fuel rail to the cold start injector got bent during top end rebuild.

Copper washers can be reused if the mating surface is not scared up. What you do to the is anneal them. Hang them on a piece of wire, heat with a propane until they just turn red, let cool. Annealing them makes them "dead soft" again. I do it all the time when working on my Classic Triumph MC and we used to do it on head gaskets and any other copper gaskets.

Make sure the banjo fitting or the mating surface on the plenum and bolt are not scared. That will cause leaks also.

That's a cool tip!
