Fuse Identification Help
« on: Oct 10, 2013, 02:59:12 PM »
I was checking all my fuses and I found a single 10A fuse that was blown.

It is located Top Row, Center Column in the fuse cluster under the drivers dash.

I have an FSM but i cannot find a fuse cluster layout anywhere in it to tell me which fuse is for what.

If anybody has a fuse layout/diagram or could point me to one that would be awesome.

Also, if you happen to know what it is for and the most propbably reason for the blow that would be great too.

Attaching a photobucket link just in case the pic doesn't upload.

Where's the fuse box cover?

It shows what each fuse is for.

Wasn't sure if they put a sticker on the covers.

Unfortunately when I bought the 4runner it wasn't included.  They just sit exposed.  Im guessing I could snag a cover from any Gen 1 4runner in a junkyard if I have too.

But I did just find this pic on-line.  I'm hoping it is for the '85.

I don't use the cig lighter, but Im guessing it's that.

I have several low wattage items taped into my cig circuit.  Its a great source to draw from, especially when relays are used on the other end.   :yesnod:

I haven't checked (been busy with carpet glue removal) after putting a new fuse back in but...

I noticed the lamp indicator was on out my ARB Front Air Locker Compressor Switch.  It was already installed when I purchased the truck so I am guessing it is tied into the same circuit.

Right now, I'm just overwhelmed by the carpet glue and how to adapt this truck to a tropical climate to avoid water/humidity created problems before they start.

Moved from Denver to Pensacola.

Thanks for the advice.

In your climate, I'd do a frame off preservation.

Sand down frame and paint with POR-15.  And I'd rubber coat or POR-15 the under side of the body.  And rubber line the interior.

My environment is mostly wet, and my cab is starting to rust out around the windshield!!  :rivers:  And it seems water likes to seep in from almost every spot imaginable.  I wish I lived in a drier climate.  Oh well, if the body rusts off, then buggy time it is, with rain gear and goggles.   :cheese:
