Rear case oil overfill
« on: Oct 09, 2013, 07:29:25 AM »
I have way to much oil in my rear case after filling it to spec a month earlier. I'm wondering if this is because my tranny output seal is failing? Anyone ever experience this sort of thing?  I drained the cases back down to their correct level and filled the tranny to its correct level and I'll see what happens. I am just curious if anyone else has experienced this same issue. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated thanks! :driving:

It seems like even if the trans output seal is failing the oil level would still stay the same all the way through unless more oil gets trapped in one area more than the other.

I had the same problem on my 3.0 until Marlin did the mod on my tranny to T-case adapter. This mod is only for the t-case to tranny adapter on the 3.o.

I'm keepin an eye on it. I have a w56 with duals, no adapter plate. If it keeps happening ill change the trans output seal and c what happens from there. Looks like its guna be one of those trial and error type of deals. Thanks for the reply now I kno Im not crazy and it's happened to someone else
