Topic: Rear Axle Question

My rear axle seal is leaking.  Anyone know the best route to go?  Axle rebuild or replace seals?  Any suggestions?

I would just replace the seals, and inspect the rear bearing and brakes while I was in there.  When my rear axle started leaking it was caused by the rear bearing fragmenting.

Big tires = leaky seals probably just need to replace the seals. Like wermy says I'd check for metal fragments in the gear oil just to be safe.

I have found that when a rear axle seal starts leaking all of a sudden, the axle bearing is starting to go bad.
