Alignments are easy on a straight axle.  Just need some clamps, angle iron (at least 3' in length), and a tape measure.  But periodically, you should hit a alignment shop to get the front in line with the rear tires.  I've seen alot of rigs crab walking down the road, because the rear is out of whack.

Solid axle alignments are do it your self affairs. You can check the toe with a tape measure and get the caster with a level and a protractor. As far as the crab walk thing just have someone follow you to see what it's doing and adjust accordingly

I thought that the crab walking effect was a result of not setting up your rear spring hangers correctly. I didnt know it could work itself out if wack.

Working at a tire shop years ago, I've seen many of rigs with OEM springs in the rear be out of whack.  Ford was notorious for the front ends being out of alignment off the show room floor.  But if your off by a little bit when installing your leaf spring hangars, it will cause the rear to crab.  Or if one leaf spring is flatter than the other, it will offset the axle.  Or bushing will wear out too.
