How much would you pay for a complete stock Toyota axle?

Just like the title says.  Post up with how much you would pay in your area.  Just getting a feel for the Toyota parts market in other areas of the states.

Here in Southern Oregon $200 - $400 depending on condition and axle year.  Or you get the occasional solid gold axle for $600 +

Thats about it Homefries.  I've seen some on Marlin go for less than $200.

Up in the Portland area, I see them run more towards the $400 end of things.  And if you see one for $200, its gone by the time you see the post.  And if its the 85 axle, they want more like $500.

Here in the Central Valley I've picked up two complete axles for $75 each (one had 4.88s and a Detroit the guy didn't know about) and another for $300 that was fully rebuilt, fully armored and came with a complete high steer kit.

Usually around $300 for a stock axle unless you are a lucky sob and find one at a junk yard, then $90 :)

I cant find em for under 300 anymore if they are complete. The lockouts themselves are worth a 100 bucks a pair. You can part a axle out for damn near 500 if you do it right, and post it on the right websites.

People need to realize that this stuff is dwindling off, and its gonna be gone in the next 10 yrs. Stockpile now while you can, I know i have been

There are plenty out there and there always will be. Sellers just know how much people are willing to pay and they advertise for a bit more than that and since they aren't sold very often people pay more when they do find one for sale. I don't think we'll ever really "run out". People should look more into the fj40 and fj60 axles as well. I have a widened fj40 front axle on my Tacoma...why? Cause it was FREE and a lot of people don't think their FJ axles are worth anything so they just junk em or sell them for like $50 but they are the exact same as a mini except with a 9.5" diff.

I'd stockpile them myself, but life keeps me from doing so.  I'd go FJ60, but up here they want twice as much as a mini.  And I never think about a FJ40.   If they get too expensive, I'll look at getting a Ruff Stuff axle in a FJ60 width, for $600.  That way I know that the axle is new and not bent and is somebodies headache.

I always get leary about people selling a axle housing cheap online.

Trust me, they are dwindling. You used to be able to buy knuckles and spindles from vendors cheap. Not anymore. Everyone and their mom welds some crap on the axles, or wheels them not setupo right, or like an idiot, and bends them. Then you have the guys that buy up the junkyards supply. Every yard up here has at least half their toyotas off limits becuase they have already beenbought and sold to buyers in cental and south america. If you were in the toyota parts and sales business you would know this. This is why people are doing core business. The demand isnt here in the US. it is everywhere else.

Id be willing to bet that the amount of stock solid axle trucks in USA let alone california, has dropped 1/3rd in the last 5 years.

Thank goodness for aftermarket products then. You can literally build a Toyota axle using all brand new parts now-a-days. Now if someone would just sell some good, inexpensive after market knuckles...

Indeed, you will always have the am stuff, but then that defeats the cheap crawler for 80% of the toyota crowd. I know its unavoidable, thats why Ive been hoarding and hoarding.

It may not be as bad other places, but here, toyotas get raped. Ive sold 2 1st gens that went down to central america. The guys dont care about titles, reg, smog, anything, its scary.
