yeee... what exactly is it you're trying to accomplish?

I'd suggest you just get a 4runner first and wheel it.  Add a few extra goodies (dual crawler, hy steer, locker and lift) and then decide it you really need anything more.

Oh, lighten up on the emot-icons... it was hard to read your post through all that stuff.    :conf:

take care!

sounds like an extra long project.  maybe years before it's done. :.order:
that would kill me to not being able to drive my rig for a few years.
i agree with trt2 and brandon.  drive the living hect out of it and see what kind of upgrades you could use the most.
my dad 4x'd the rubicon every year and all he did to his 1977 dodge power wagon was a 2 inch lift, brush gaurds and a winch.
it sounds like you're getting ready to build a big competition rig "like that raptor thing" or something. ::)

Ok Ok Ok yes i figure it will two or three years before it is put together so in about four years but no it will not be down all that time I was going to wheel and compile parts and was not sure if it was a good combo the vortec V6 i can find a whole truck for $1200 that has been run over in the back or the like now it sounds like what i propose is more than what is allowed here sry to have disturbed you and thank you for your time.and yes it was IFS V6 NV4500 NP205.

why IFS and once again, what are you building it for? Articulation or suspension travel? If articulation forget IFS right now (and IRS)

why ifs are you going to go get crazy down in baja?

i had a 205 behind a turbo 400 and pumped 454 in a truck i used to have.  NOTHING could break it.  even burning rubber in four wheel drive.

i was surprised when i took the yota TC apart to find that it is very similar to the 205.  all gears!  except of course the obvious,(size, aluminum instead of iron)

how are you planning on building the 1 ton ifs/irs? are you going to use like a corvette diff, or something out of a newer truck front axle?

the thing i would fear with a long travel independent sus. is that as the wheel drops it moves inward making a narrower width.  that makes me think it would lose stability.(greater chance of roll over.)

are you custom making the arms in some tricking way?

Iam looking for somthing that most say can't be done but i would say articulation but why forget it mabey i am not getting somthing here as far as getting crazy in Baja acualy yes someday i would like to take this rig there i like the fact that the np and the yota are the same lighter but still very strong very good as far as the 1TON newer front IFS also very intreged by 4 wheel steer i think the long travel suspension for them with the full sized width would still be farley stable also wide tred pattern and runner stile stuffing inside flared fenders and you know? and thanks for giving me real input here.hay also anyone know the specs on the toy V6 verses the Vortec V6 (HP @ ____ & T@____????)

both from the latest vertions:
toyota:
the 3.4 dual over head cam toyota v6 has
190 hp
177 ft/lbs of torque.   :P

for the vortec off of the chevy website:
Horsepower @ engine RPM
180hp @ 4400 (2WD)

 190hp @ 4400 (4x4)

Torque (lb.-ft./N-m @ RPM)
245 @ 2800 (2WD)

 250 @ 2800 (4x4)  8)

i have driven both and the chevy felt a lot more powerful

 ;D

Talk to Scott at Rockstomper, he has tried to make IFS work off road for a long time - and guess what. He runs a live axle now...

It just isn't feasable, why would you want to do it? What gain are you looking for? Go coil overs on a straight axle if you got the money, don't waste it on IFS. Buy hey, I never tried it. If you think you can go for it. Just saying others have tried with no success - but not me so I am not speaking from experience.
