a340E transmission off-road ability?
« on: May 22, 2012, 06:25:38 PM »
anyone used one and if so what are their results/feelings?

Have heard that some have difficulty with off camber situations but not much.

I know, just swap in a 5spd, like the auto for the rocks I play in but am not opposed to it, just figuring out ECU/bellhousing/flywheel issues not to mention swapping back in the clutch pedal I previously removed.

Have a cheby 4.3 and 700r4, not liking 1- fuel consumption as I drive mine to and from and 2- not having a toy heart so working on a 3RZ that comes with auto.....

Thanks for any and all info!

Rdesjardin is running one I believe. Google his name I'm sure you'll find something.

Yeah. I like the auto. But hey I'm extremely biased. I actually have ran autos in most every 4x4 I've wheeled but 1, the first one. Since then, T400 to C6 to A340.
One foot on the brake and one on the gas!!!!!!!

It felt fine. I had 37s, 488s, v6 and it was plenty low and even did great in the snow.
