Strange vibration from flywheel???
« on: Feb 28, 2005, 01:15:22 AM »
I purchased a reman flywheel from napa, I installed the marlin SHD clutch and reving the truck stationarry there is a large vibration coming from the (im guessing) flywheel. I removed my fan just t make sure its not coming from the front of the engine. Do flywheels need to be balanced??? Even if right out of the box from the factory?? Or do i have some bolts about to break loose. Im not sure what to do here, It only vibrates at around 3000, drops off then on agian around 5000 rpm...   weird  :headscratch:

new flywheel

new clutch

new pilot bearing

new throwout bearing

new tranny

new engine

Sounds like the balance of the f/w is off.
Cross threaded is tighter than Locktite
